The South Simcoe Police Service has charged a Brampton man in relation to a fatal collision in the summertime.

Police say on Thursday, July 21, at around 11:15 a.m., an 84-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman from Toronto were driving northbound on County Road 27 when their vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The couple was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The lone occupant of the other vehicle was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and was subsequently released from hospital.

As a result, the 29-year-old faces charges, including two counts of dangerous operation causing death.
