South Simcoe Police recover heavy equipment stolen in thefts three years apart

One theft reported in October, the other in 2017

Someone might be in double trouble after police recovered two pieces of heavy equipment reported stolen in separate incidences.

Police say the equipment has been recovered following an investigation that launched in late October with reports of the theft of a bobcat from an Innisfil job site. The probe led police to recover not only the mini-excavator but also a skid steer that was reported stolen some three years ago. The hardware was recovered during the execution of a search warrant in Halton Region.

The total value of the stolen goods is pegged at $40,000. The police investigation into this theft continues.
