Speed Demon Easily Spotted On Highway 400

Passed police officer in excess of posted limit

An easy mark for a South Simcoe Police officer on Highway 400.

The officer was northbound on the highway approaching the 4th Line of Innisfil when a vehicle passed him in excess of the 100 kph limit.

As the officer followed, the driver was clocked at 150 kph, then 140 kph before being pulled over at the 4th Line.

During the stop, the officer says there was an odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search led to the seizure of a quantity of the drug.

A 19-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with Speeding and Possession of a controlled substance.
