Three suspects have been arrested by South Simcoe Police four days after an armed assault at a plaza in Innisfil that left a victim with serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Monday evening, when officers were called to a disturbance at the plaza on Innisfil Beach Road around 7:20 p.m.

Police say three male youths had tampered with cameras inside a nearby apartment before assaulting an adult victim. One suspect reportedly brandished a gold expandable baton and attempted to strike the victim while the other two assaulted them while on the ground.

Ultimately, the victim was struck multiple times in the head and face, and had serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

South Simcoe Police's community response unit, street crime unit, and uniform patrol investigated,
eventually identifying the three suspects later in the week, and they were each charged with assault, assault and mischief, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All three have since been released on conditions, and with a future court date.
