Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble COVID-19 broadcast will bring out Canada’s top stars

The event is centred around a campaign to raise $150-million for Food Banks Canada

There will be no shortage of star power for the Canadian COVID-19 broadcast that will air commercial-free at 6:30 p.m. Sunday across the country on numerous platforms including 107.5 KOOL FM.

Musical stars slated to appear include Sam Roberts, Walk off the Earth, Justin Bieber, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain and Barenaked Ladies. There will be appearances by several Hollywood stars including Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Kiefer Sutherland, as well as participation by David Suzuki, Chris Hadfield and Margaret Atwood.

The goal is to raise $150 million to aid Food Banks Canada. Food banks across the country are expecting to see a surge in customers as the COVID-19 pandemic has left thousands of Canadians unemployed. Before the COVID-19 crisis, Canadians made over one million visits to food banks every month, and in Barrie, the food bank was serving about 3,000 people a month.

The broadcast will front line workers battling COVID-19. Singer Anne Murray will address the recent shooting rampage in her home province of Nova Scotia.
