Friday Harbour Resort is gearing up for what CEO Hani Roustom calls one of its “most dynamic summer seasons yet,” with live entertainment, lakeside dining, family programming, and a brand‑new games room drawing visitors to the shores of Lake Simcoe.
Roustom says the goal this year is simple: bring people together. “This summer, it's all about bringing people together. We want to do it through live entertainment, waterfront dining, shopping, and the fun and the excitement on our promenade.” For families in Innisfil, Barrie, and beyond, the resort is positioning itself as a close‑to‑home escape packed with things to do.
A new summer concert series takes the stage
The biggest addition this year is Friday Harbour’s Summer Concert Series, launching with a high‑energy Elvis tribute show on the CIBC Pier Stage. Roustom says the idea came from a desire to create memorable nights out without the drive into Toronto.
“This series is going to really be featuring high‑energy tribute performances in a lively waterfront setting,” he explained. The kickoff show, June 20, features multi‑award‑winning Elvis tribute artists backed by the Casino Brothers, “one of North America’s premier six‑piece Elvis tribute band.”
Guests can choose from dinner‑and‑show packages, reserved seating, or general admission. And yes—expect to be on your feet. As Roustom put it, “No chairs needed.”
Upcoming shows include:
- Spice Girls tribute - July 25
- ABBA Revisited - August 29
New games room brings nostalgia and modern fun
Families will also find a new addition on the promenade: a fully equipped games room filled with arcade classics and modern interactive gaming. Roustom says it’s already a hit with visitors of all ages.
“Once you get in, you don’t want to get out,” he laughed, noting that the space blends retro favourites with games today’s kids will love.
A community beyond the resort
While Friday Harbour is known for its waterfront views and luxury amenities, Roustom insists the real magic comes from the people.
“It’s the people that really live at Friday Harbour, that sense of community, that sense of connection, that sense of togetherness,” he said. The resort welcomes locals year‑round, not just seasonal visitors. “Our doors are always open - within Innisfil, within Barrie, their friends or family and loved ones as well.”
Events run throughout all four seasons - from the Skate Escape in winter to the Fall Market and now the summer concert series.
