Suspect charged in fail to remain collision with 14-year-old cyclist in Barrie

Accused stopped briefly before leaving the scene

A 45-year-old Vaughan man has been charged with Fail to Remain and Failing to Yield in a collision last month in Barrie.

A 14-year-old cyclist suffered minor injuries in the collision on July 23 near Grove and Johnson Streets.

Witnesses told police the driver did stop, but only long enough to inspect his vehicle for damage, before leaving the scene.

A snapshot of his licence plate helped police identify the driver, who turned himself in at the weekend.
