Suspicious hay fire in Clearview burned for more than 20 hours
Fire Chief calls the blaze "malicious"
A suspicious hay fire in Clearview Township, east of Stayner, burned for more than 20 hours.
The fire department was called to the blaze shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday. Crews spent most of Saturday extinguishing the blaze and remained on scene until 7 a.m. Sunday.
Crews still on scene of this fire, this malicious fire has tied up a lot of resources even after transitioning to rapid fuel reduction tactics. In a tweet, Fire Chief Roree Payment said the fire was malicious and tied up a lot of resources.
He said this was the third such fire since over the summer months.
