Take two: Snowbirds to fly over Collingwood and Barrie-area on Sunday

Saturday's fly over was scrapped due to snow

The Snowbirds will give it another shot.

Saturday’s scheduled flight over Collingwood and Barrie was scrapped due to snow. The aerobatic team took off from CFB Trenton en route to London then turned around when they ran into poor weather close to Toronto.

Today’s forecast is a little messy with a rain and snow mix in the morning and then rain in the afternoon.

The Snowbirds are flying across Canada on a mission dubbed–“Operation Inspiration,” to boost the morale of Canadians during this pandemic.

If the weather holds, the Snowbirds will leave from London at 4:15 p.m. and then veer north from Brampton toward Collingwood, and basically follow Highway 26 to Barrie, landing at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport at 5:15 p.m.

The Snowbirds ask that the public obey physical distancing rules and watch the flyovers from the safety of their home.
