Tee time booked? Golf courses and other outdoor recreational facilities reopen Saturday

Golf courses, tennis courts and other outdoor recreational facilities reopened Saturday across the province as part of the Ford government’s three-step reopening plan announced on Thursday.

Skate parks and sports fields have also been given the green light.

Keep in mind, team sports are still banned and anyone using these facilities must maintain at least two metres distancing unless the individuals are from the same household.

In Barrie, city officials said baseball diamonds, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, skateboard parks, outdoor sports fields and pickleball courts are open.

The city’s Marina, gas dock, and boat launches will also open on Saturday, including the Bayfield Basin Transient Marina.

“Thank you to staff who have moved so quickly today to open our tennis courts, fields, and Marina tomorrow,” said Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman via Twitter on Friday afternoon.
