Newmarket Craft Beer Winter Festival

Do you love beer? Of course you do! The Newmarket Craft Beer Winter Festival kicks off this weekend with tons of local brewers coming out for all the fun. This event has both indoor and outdoor events including games, food trucks, vendors, and more. Some events are free to the public but for others, you can pick early (cheaper) tickets up in advance.

February 28th - 6 PM to 10 PM
February 29th - 12 PM to 12:30 PM


Barrie Students Art Show

Come out to the Barrie Downtown Library this weekend and support some local, young artistic talent. The Barrie Students Art Show is a free event that will showcase works from students of all ages from the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.

March 1st - 2:00 PM



Hot Cocoa Trail

This is your last weekend to check out the Hot Cocoa Trail in Downtown Barrie. Visit one of the many locations and try specialty flavours like the Spiked Snickers from Chillz Dessert Lounge or the Toffee Crunch from Casa Cappuccino. Collect ballots for every place you visit for a chance at an awesome prize package too.

Live Music in the Speak

Another Friday night in February means another night to get your fingers snappin' and your toes tappin' with Live Music in the Speak. Wrap your lips around some signature cocktails, order up some delicious charcuterie boards, and enjoy the musical stylings of Jazz-Mandhu. Reservations are not necessary but are recommended.

Horseshoe Resort

The snow is coming, you can't stop it so you might as well make the best of it by grabbing your board, boots, and poles for a day on the slopes at Horshoe Resort. Don't forget to bring your skates too for the hillside rink and when you need a break from the cold, warm up with some delicious food at the Crazy Horse.

Black History Month Celebration

The City of Barrie and Making Change are hosting the perfect way to wrap up Black History Month with a series of speakers, artists, musicians, and poets at the Black History Month Celebration. Embrace inclusion, diversity, and experience Simcoe County in a new way.

Try a new restaurant in Barrie

Barrie is definitely a food lovers paradise and over the past couple of months, we've been lucky enough to have a few more restaurants join the roster of amazing eats in the area. Grab some Italian at Limoncello Bistro, Korean at Skewers, Mexican from Bent Taco, and tons more.
