Three new cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County, and three recoveries too

Two from Bradford, one from Severn

Three new cases of COVID-19 we’re announced by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) on Thursday, a day after confirming no new infections across the board.

Two young women from Bradford-West Gwillimbury and a senior citizen from Severn Township represent today’s additions to the regional caseload, now totalling 529. Of those, 448 people have recovered so far, an increase of three since yesterday.

One more person was sent to hospital because of the disease, for a total of six area residents being treated in a medical centre.

The SMDHU says no one in our region has died of COVID-19 since May 20, with 36 lives lost to date.

On Wednesday, the SMDHU reported there were no new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region, the second time this month that happened. There were no cases reported on June 3, while the region’s epidemic curve continues to slope downward.
