The Township of Tiny is warning residents to be cautious after learning that unauthorized election-related letters and door knockers containing misinformation have been distributed throughout the municipality.

According to the township, the personalized mailings and printed materials relate to the upcoming 2026 Municipal and School Board Election and appear to use branding that could lead residents to believe they are official communications from the Township of Tiny or Register to Vote, a brand operated by Elections Ontario.

Municipal officials say the documents were created by an unauthorized third party and are not associated with or approved by either the Township of Tiny or Elections Ontario.

The township is also emphasizing that the personal names and mailing addresses used to distribute the materials were not supplied by either the municipality or Elections Ontario.

Residents are being urged to avoid relying on third-party organizations for assistance with voter registration or voting. Township officials say doing so could put personal information at risk.

Instead, residents are encouraged to obtain election information directly from the municipality, which says it remains the official source for all information related to the Township of Tiny's Municipal and School Board Elections.

Anyone requiring assistance registering to vote can contact the Township of Tiny Clerk's Department at 705-526-4204 or by email at elections@tiny.ca. Residents can also visit the Township Office at 130 Balm Beach Road West for in-person assistance.

The township is reminding voters to verify election information through official municipal channels as preparations continue for the 2026 election.
