Traffic stop in Midland on Saturday nets loaded gun, drugs and cash

Suspect is facing numerous charges

This was no routine traffic stop.

OPP pulled over a pickup truck near Yonge Street and Hartman Drive in Midland just before 11:30 Saturday night, and while speaking to the driver, officers noticed a handgun in the vehicle. The loaded gun was seized and the driver was arrested and taken to the detachment for further investigation.

During the course of the investigation, police also located crack cocaine and $740 in Canadian cash along with drug paraphernalia.

A 50 year old Midland man faces drug and weapon-related charges, as well as a charge of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation.
