A slew of drug and driving charges were laid against a 34-year-old Tay Township man on Wednesday when police conducted a traffic stop of a motorcycle in the parking lot of a King Street restaurant in Midland.

After speaking with the driver, the officer began an impaired driving investigation leading to an arrest on an outstanding court process and a search of the individual and motorcycle by police.

Ontario Provincial Police say they seized a "white drug-like substance" and other drug-related paraphernalia.

The suspect faces charges that include impaired driving, drug possession and trafficking charges, as well as highway and automobile act charges such as driving without a licence, driving while under suspension, obstructed plate, unnecessary noise, improper licence, no insurance and other offences.
