Tropical trip or camping with the wife and dogs? Nottawa man mulling options after $1M lottery win

Buying ticket was an afterthought

Decisions, decisions.

David Schnurr of Nottawa is weighing his options after winning $1-million in the Lotto Max Maxmillions draw on February 26.

His wife checked his tickets a few days after the draw “I heard my wife scream my name saying we won,” the 61-year-old public servant said. “In her excitement, she thought we won $100,000. I came to see for myself, expecting to be disappointed, then double-checked my numbers to those online. It was surreal!”
David says this win will enhance his retirement. “When the pandemic is over, we would like to take a nice trip – maybe somewhere tropical or in a camper with our dogs somewhere,” he smiled.

Buying tickets for the draw was an afterthought, says David, who had stopped at a gas station in Collingwood on his way home from work to pick up soft drinks.
