
Two people have been arrested following an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into a large drug trafficking outfit in Orillia.
Investigators from the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) along with members of the OPP's central region emergency response team, uniformed officers and the canine unit identified an individual who was the subject of an investigation at a business on King St.
Around 5 p.m. Wednesday, they were arrested without incident and another individual was found. Both were handed multiple drug-related criminal charges.
One suspect was identified as a 27-year-old from Pickering, the other a 23-year-old from Etobicoke.
Among the items seized were over 70 grams of cocaine, 50 hydromorphone pills, nearly two grams of fentanyl, $1,400 in Canadian currency, and an item of jewellery.
Both are in custody and have a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday.
