Two more cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County and six people recovered

Additions come a day following the announcement of no new cases

A day after reporting no new cases in our area, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is now reporting two.

Both of the new cases added to the regional caseload are women in their 20s. One is from Barrie, the other from New Tecumseth. Their addition to the list brings the SMDHU’s caseload to 482.

Another six people have recovered from COVID-19, for a total of 407 to date. That represents 83 percent of all cases in Simcoe and Muskoka. The Health Unit says there are six people in hospital for treatment of COVID-19 while the rest of its active cases are recovering at home.

There have been no local lives lost in connection to COVID-19 since May 20; the SMDHU death toll remains at 36.
