Two teens charged following Alliston high school lockdown

Both facing weapons charges, one accused of threatening and assaulting

Two teenagers are facing weapons-related charges after a lockdown at Banting Memorial High School in Alliston.

The OPP rushed to the Alliston high school on the morning of Tuesday, February 4th, with reports one student was threatening another with a gun. Police say the first teen put the weapon into the backpack of another before the pair fled the scene.

Investigators say the two students were later taken into custody, while a replica .357 was seized. Nobody was hurt in the ordeal.

A spokesperson with the Nottawasaga OPP confirms with Barrie 360 that both teens have been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, while one of the pair also faces counts of uttering threats and assault.
