A new feature called "Uber Hourly" will let riders book an Uber for $50US an hour for additional flexibility when taking care of essential tasks. There are also additional charges if you cover a lot of miles.

Uber is also ramping up safety measures to try to ensure rider numbers stay high by doing things like providing face masks and sanitizing kits for drivers, requesting riders to sit in the back seat with the windows open, and reducing the suggested passengers for an UberX ride from four to three.

The feature has already been given the green light in places like Australia, Africa, and Europe. With testing now being done in North America, we should see it in Canada soon.
