Variety store robberies investigated by Barrie police

One of the stores was hit twice

In nearly a month, Barrie police have investigated a string of convenience store robberies that they have linked to the same suspect.

On January 17, police say a masked man with two edged weapons robbed a variety store in a plaza on Duckworth Street and Grove Street, then fled on foot.

Then on February 8, police say a man armed with an edged weapon robbed a convenience store in a plaza on the south side of Cundles Road West, west of Bayfield Street.

Then this past Saturday, police say a man with a two edged weapon robbed the same variety store that was held up on January 17.

Police say the suspect is white, in his mid to late 20s, with a slim build and is about 6' to 6'2 in height.

In the first and second robberies, he wore white high-top style shoes, and on Saturday, he wore red high-tops.

Barrie Police believe from the ongoing investigations that the suspect is white, in his mid to late 20’s, with a slim build, and has an approximate height of 6’-6’2. In the first and second robberies, the suspect wore white high-top style shoes and on Saturday night, he wore red high-tops.
