Who’d have thought we’d get excited at the prospect of doing laundry?

A survey in the U.S. suggests the adventure bar has become so low during the pandemic that laundry, shopping and getting gas have become highlights of the week.

Sixty-nine per cent of those surveyed said after spending so much time indoors any new experience feels like a thrill.

The study, conducted by OnePoll, examined how people have coped with isolation over the past year:

  • 44 per cent said grocery shopping has become an exciting moment in their lives
  • 35 per cent admitted filling up their gas tank gives them a thrill
  • 32 per cent said doing laundry has become the highlight of their week
