Witnesses sought after pedestrian struck in south Barrie early Thursday morning

A 20-year-old suffered serious injuries after police say they were struck by a car.

Officers responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian around 1:30 Thursday morning, in the area of Mapleview and Bayview Drives. The pedestrian was rushed from the scene to a Toronto-area trauma centre, while the vehicle involved remained on scene.
