Woman assaulted walking on trail in Collingwood: OPP

Woman suffered minor injuries

Police say a woman was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground while walking her dog on a trail in Collingwood.

This was on a trail between Spruce Street and High Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The woman was able to fight him off, and the male suspect was last seen running westbound on the trail towards High Street. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was not located despite a search by the OPP Canine Unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team. He is described as white, about 5’10” and 170 pounds with dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.
