Working Smoke Detectors Got Everyone Out of Barrie Home

Damage Estimated at $300,000

Nobody was hurt following a house fire in Barrie.

Barrie Fire Services was called out to a home on Garden Drive, not far from the intersection of Little Ave. and Huronia Rd., around 1:30 Sunday. First responders arrived to find working smoke detectors had given the occupants time to get out safely.

The fire was knocked down before 6:00 Sunday morning, while the Office of the Fire Marshall has been contacted and is expected on scene in the near future. The cause has yet to be determined.

Barrie Fire Services estimates the damage at $300,000.
