Bike lanes and multi-use trail also being added

A section of Hurst Drive in Barrie starts getting a facelift starting today.

The stretch from Little Avenue to Minet’s Point Road was to be closed as of 7 o’clock this morning (August 24) for resurfacing as well as the addition of sewers, a three-metre multi-use trail and designated bike lanes.

The closure will last until mid-November.

Local traffic, emergency vehicles and garbage collection will be allowed.

Barrie Transit stops from Little Avenue to Minet’s Point Road will be out of service.

The designated detour route is Minet’s Point Road to Yonge Street to Little Avenue.
