Seniors in Collingwood and Penetanguishene have a new way of getting around

Some added mobility for residents at two retirement homes in the county.

Sunset Manor in Collingwood and Georgian Manor in Penetanguishene have each received a trio bike that can be used by a volunteer to pedal two residents around, allowing them to experience the surrounding Simcoe County trails and connect to their communities while getting outdoors.

Originating in Denmark and active in more than 40 countries, Cycling Without Age (CWA) programs have enhanced the lives of residents around the world through the simple act of sharing trishaw rides in the outdoors.

The program is made possible through funding from a grant from the Government of Canada – New Horizons for Seniors Program. It is also supported by Cycle Simcoe with in-kind support from Kamikaze (Collingwood) and Total Sports (Midland/Penetanguishene).
