It's finally here, the first long weekend of the summer! Victoria Day always falls on the second last Monday in May and is a distinctly Canadian holiday celebrating the birthday of Queen Victoria. In 2024, the Victoria Day long weekend is May 18 to 20.

Rain or shine, we have tons of activities for you to make the best out of the unofficial start to summer!

Discovery Harbour

Discovery Harbour sets sail for the season on May 18th, 2024. Explore 19th-century naval life with knowledgeable costumed guides and marvel at the real H.M.S. Tecumseth hull preserved within the museum. Daily tours launch in July, while a new Escape Room challenges your wit starting May 18th.

Whether you're a history buff or looking for family fun, Discovery Harbour offers a captivating journey through the past.

The Oddity Market

Barrie's Oddity Market isn't your ordinary shopping trip!

Taking place on May 19, this marketplace is filled with strange and fascinating finds. Expect everything from haunted trinkets to unbelievable oddities, leaving you awestruck.

Sideshow performers and live music add to the captivating atmosphere, making it a fun event for the whole family. Embrace the curious and explore the extraordinary – the Oddity Market is an unforgettable experience you won't want to miss!

Admission is $5.

Horseshoe Resort

Horseshoe Resort is hosting their Bikes & Brews event over Victoria Day weekend (May 17th-20th). This four-day extravaganza promises to be a blast for mountain bike enthusiasts of all levels.

The highlight is undoubtedly getting back on the trails at the resort's Downhill Mountain Bike Park. But that's not all! Bikes & Brews is also serving up a refreshing combination of frosty beers from local breweries and Molson's, alongside delicious coffee concoctions from Mark IV Brothers Roasters and Horseshoe Resort's very own Shoe Brew.

To keep your energy levels up in between rides, there will be mouthwatering food specials throughout the weekend, along with a daily appy hour featuring half-priced appetizers and discounted pints.

In additional to all of this, there will also be live music on Saturday night at Crazy Horse adds to the festive atmosphere, a mountain bike challenge with great prizes and a sale on past-season rental bikes and select gear at the HV Sports retail shop.

Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain Village is transforming into a street festival over May Long Weekend (May 18-20). Enjoy live music headliners Ridin' The Pine and The Greg Wyard Band, as well as family fun, delicious eats, and outdoor adventures.

From casual village strolls to live music and dancing, Blue Mountain Village promises a fun-filled long weekend for all ages.

Friday Harbour Resort

Escape to a lakeside paradise this Victoria Day long weekend at Friday Harbour! Live music, DJs, and a beer garden create a festive atmosphere at the CIBC Pier. Foodies will love happy hour deals at both Beach Club and Lake Club restaurants. Explore the resort with rentals or stay at the Nest using their special spring rates.

Saturday features a vibrant outdoor market with local artisans, plus a stunning a beach campfire from 6 PM to 8 PM and fireworks display over the harbor at 10 PM.

Family fun continues campfire banana boat roasting on Sunday and tie-dye shirt making on Monday.

Free admission (pay to play for some activities) and parking make it the perfect long weekend getaway!

Quayle's Brewery

Quayle's Brewery is bringing the tunes for Victoria Day weekend 2024! Catch live music all three days, from laid-back afternoon sets to energetic evening shows. The lineup includes local artists, like Chris Staig, Rebekah Hawker, Kyle Wauchope, Matt Playne, Giant's Tomb, and Chris Lemay, offering a variety of musical styles to keep you entertained throughout the long weekend.
