Ten Barrie restaurant will be competing for the title of Top Chef and your taste buds can have a front-row seat to all the action. Sample dishes from Donaleigh’s, The Farmhouse, Cravings, The North, Kenzington Burger Bar, Dunlop St. Diner, 147, PIE, Bacio, West Catering/Burger Royale, and FishBone and find out who will be crowned Top Chef Barrie.

Barrie Colts VS Kitchener Rangers

The Barrie Colts will host the Kitchener Rangers this Saturday at the Sadlon Arena. The Rangers are playing very well right now only dropping one game in regulation in their last ten while the Colts have been struggling in their last ten games only pulling in ten points. The Rangers have also had The Colts number over their last eight meetings only losing one.

Mr. Brown Live At Perplexity

There's something a little different this weekend with Perplexity hosting a line-up of DJ's for a night of drum & bass music. Mr. Brown will be headlining supported by Roxer, Joshimojo, Skip, and MC: Caddy Cad. Tickets are only $5!

Guided Snowshoeing at Snow Valley

Take in a beautiful night under the stars with a guided snowshoe tour at Snow Valley. The guide will point out natural features and wildlife and you will eventually settle in for a campfire with homemade chili, s'mores, and more. All equipment is included, adult tickets are $49.99 and youth (16 and under) are only $29.99.

Snowboard Jam At Horseshoe Resort

Style is king at this event so if you think you have that in spades sign up for the Vans Hi-Standard Snowboard Series at Horseshoe Resort this weekend. The contest is jam format so there is no predetermined order and there will be lots of cash prizes, goodies. Registration is free and includes lunch and a lift ticket too.

Boomerang Bags Sewing Bee

Boomerang Bags is a non-profit organization looking to cut down on the amount of one-use plastics we use by creating fabric bags that are distributed to local businesses. This weekend they are having a Sewing Bee at the Barrie Public Libary where you can help cut, pin, iron, and more. It's also a perfect place to learn how to sew or practice your skills.

January 12th - 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Moonlight Snowshoe Fondue

If chili isn't your thing but you really want to snowshoe, how about the Moonlight Snowshoe Fondue at Hardwood Ski & Bike? There will be a guided hike, campfire, local food, wine, and even live music. Adults tickets are $85 and youth (14 and under) tickets are only $55.
