Alex Nuttall wants four more years in the mayor's chair.

At a late afternoon news conference on Tuesday, Nuttall said he is seeking re-election as Mayor of Barrie.

He chose the Mill Creek Community Centre in the city's south end to announce his re-election bid, in the neighbourhood where he grew up.

Nuttall won the 2022 municipal election and was sworn in as Barrie's 47th mayor in November of that year.

As of now, Nuttall is the only candidate vying to be Barrie mayor.

Nominations for Ontario's municipal election opened last Friday.

Election day is October 26.

More to come.
