Another week has gone by and we're all still looking for more content to fill our time. Having been a while now, you have probably already watched all the big show and movies everyone is talking about so here is a list of a few things you might not have gotten to yet.
Burning
First up is one of 2018's best films which has largely flown under the radar. While it has received stellar critical reception, many people have yet to see this movie. Burning is a psychological mystery drama out of South Korea that is filled with tense and ambiguous storytelling, beautiful imagery, and perfectly understated performances. Watch it on Netflix.
Sicario
Director Denis Villeneuve is a master of suspense with films such as Bladerunner 2049 and Arrival under his belt and his 2015 film Sicario is no different. With some incredibly white-knuckled sequences that explode in amazing climactic action along with Emily Blunt, Benicia Del Toro, and Josh Brolin all crafting excellent performances. Watch is on Netflix.
Jackie Brown
Quentin Tarantino's least know movie, Jackie Brown is about a flight attendant who is caught between a rock and a hard place; become a snitch for the cops or keep her mouth shut and go to jail. Jackie Brown is a film-noir that takes plenty of sharp turns and is easily one of the most underrated Tarantino films. Watch it on Netflix.
The Peanut Butter Falcon
The Peanut Butter Falcon might just be the ultimate feel-good movie ever. When a man with down syndrome runs away from his caretakers to pursue his dream of becoming a pro-wrestler, he befriends an outlaw who becomes his coach and ally. You will be laughing and smiling the entire way through this movie. Watch is now on Crave.
Upgrade
Upgrade is a bloody revenge tale following a man who is paralyzed after his wife is killed and is imbued with a chip that allows him to walk again (keyword being used is bloody). While it is unique and filled with fantastic action scenes, it definitely isn't for the faint of heart. Watch it on Crave
Bad Times at the El Royale
With an ensemble cast including Dakota Johnson, Jeff Bridges, John Hamm, and Chris Hemsworth, Bad Times at the El Royale is the story of seven strangers with dark secrets who all meet in a nearly deserted hotel. While it isn't perfect, Bad Times at the El Royale is a fun ride that will keep you guessing most of the way through. Watch it on Crave.
