It feels like it's been decades since we've had the experience of grabbing a bag of popcorn and enjoying a new movie on the big screen even though it has only been a few months. Producers are having to change up their strategies for new releases and a few recent movies will forego a theatre release in favour of a straight to digital model.
Capone, a crime biopic starring Tom Hardy, Scoob, a family-friendly animated movie based on the Scooby-Doo cartoons, Arkansas, a crime-thriller starring the slightly less famous Helmsworth brother, and How to Build a Girl, a quirky coming-of-age comedy, will all be released straight to digital.
You will definitely see more new releases taking this approach and even when theatres begin to open back up, people might still feel a little bit of trepidation when it comes to large gatherings.
You can rent or buy each of these movies from services like Youtube, Amazon, or Itunes.
