Barrie man charged after traffic stop leads to drug seizure in Bradford West Gwillimbury
FILE - South Simcoe Police cruiser

A 31-year-old Barrie man has been charged after a traffic stop led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, according to South Simcoe Police.

Just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, an officer was investigating the driver of a car without proper insurance on Holland Street West in Bradford West Gwillimbury, when police noticed an open alcoholic beverage in the centre console of the vehicle.

This resulted in a search of the car, and police say that is where they located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

The suspect is up on two drug-related charges and operating a vehicle without insurance.

He has a court date in January.
