A woman who was found seriously injured in the backyard of a home on Henry Street in June has died in hospital, according to Barrie police, as investigators continue to piece together what took place that led to her being found at that location.

Police say the woman, a 50-year-old from Barrie, was found in the backyard of the Henry Street home around 6 p.m. on June 5.

"We don't have enough information at this point to determine what took place, and therefore, the investigation remains ongoing," a Barrie police spokesperson said on Thursday.

On June 12, Barrie police told Barrie 360 that the woman was discovered in the backyard by people who lived at the Henry Street home, but that she did live in the area.

"We've got some information that she may have sustained the injuries elsewhere and simply collapsed in the backyard," Barrie Police communications coordinator Peter Leon said at the time.

As part of their investigation, police are looking to speak to three people who may have been in the area the night before the woman was found: one with a walker, one with a bicycle, and a pedestrian who was waiting for a bus at Anne and Donald streets on June 4 at about 9:30 p.m.
