Barrie Minor Lacrosse has introduced a great new opportunity for your young ones to try something new! Kids from ages 4-8 can now sign up for lacrosse in a 3-on-3 non-contact house league.
As part of the athlete development program with Canadian Lacrosse Association, this league was successfully piloted last season across the province and the feedback was incredibly positive.
For children in the "Development" (3-4 years), "Paperweight" (5-6 years) and "Tyke" (7-8 years) age groups, experiencing lacrosse in a 3-on-3 setting allows them to focus on skills and development. The athletes in their beginner years can learn the sport in an environment that is both safe and fun with easy to understand rules.
If your child is undecided about whether or not this 3-on-3 lacrosse league is for them, they can give it a try for free at the next "Try Lacrosse Clinic" March 6th at Timothy Christian School. Ages 4-7 will run from 6 pm-7 pm and ages 8-12 will run from 7 pm-8 pm. These clinics will continue to run every 2nd Wednesday until April 17th.
The most recent clinic had more than 65 kids come out to play. It's a great way to try something new and at the very least, a fun way to get active.
