(UPDATE) Barrie police say the investigation has revealed the suspect is white, between 40 and 50 years old, and has combed back medium-length hair, bomber style jacket, laced shoes with a vertical stripe on the heel. He could be wearing a hoodie under his jacket.
*****************************************************************************Officers from the Barrie Police Service responded to two "disturbing incidents" in the northeast end of town early Wednesday morning.
Police say the first incident happened around 12:40 a.m. when a Cook Street resident went out to their backyard and saw a man performing an indecent act. The suspect fled into a neighbour's yard and was last seen heading in a southerly direction.
The second incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. at the same home when the resident heard a noise outside and again, the same suspect was seen "acting in the same manner as earlier," officers say.
He is described as white, around 40 years old, wearing long pants, a red flannel jacket, and a toque.
Barrie police believe the suspect may live locally and are asking people in the area who have surveillance cameras to check if they have any footage of him.
Officers added that these incidents may not have been the first time the suspect has attended this home.
Police are warning the public to be vigilant and with warm weather on the way, to make sure doors and windows are locked - especially overnight.
The public is also reminded to report any suspicious activity or persons immediately and to make sure video surveillance cameras are activated during overnight hours or any time away from the home.
Anyone with information or video is asked to contact Barrie police at 705-725-7025, extension 2741.
