Barrie police say caller provided 'inaccurate information' regarding weapons call to Dunlop St. W

Barrie police say a caller provided "inaccurate information" regarding a weapons call in the downtown on Thursday.

Officers responded to an apartment in the area of Dunlop Street West and Toronto Street early in the morning.

Pictures from the scene showed numerous police vehicles.

Dunlop was closed between Toronto and Mary Street but reopened around 9 a.m.

"After conducting a thorough and detailed investigation, detectives determined that when the call was received, inaccurate information had been provided by the caller," police said on Friday.
