Take a tour of Barrie’s downtown core and be introduced to the “Creative Corridor”. With theatres, arts centers and music halls, there is no shortage of things to do.
Maclaren Art Centre
Anchoring the eastern end of the creative corridor, the Maclaren Art Centre offers exhibitions, events and creative classes suitable for all ages, allowing you to steep yourself in artistic culture or try your hand at creating something with your own two hands.
Meridian Place & Memorial Square
Meridian Place manages to honor the historical significance of the site, all while offering live music, outdoor movies, and military celebrations. This location also helps serve the larger events such as the Promenade Days and the Craft Beer and BBQ Festival.
Five Points Theatre
Seating up to 200 people, the Five Points Theatre offers a wide array of musicals, plays, and lectures from some of Simcoe counties best, such as Talk is Free Theatre and Theatre by the Bay.
The Sandbox Centre is Barrie’s entrepreneurial Mecca, bringing together countless ideas and the people who spark them. A business support center helps shape and nurture ideas until they become a reality.
Georgian College Design and Digital Arts Centre
Allowing students to learn and work at the center of Barrie’s creative community, the newly renovated Georgian College Design and Digital Arts Centre will educate the people who will help propel Barrie into our cultural future.
Mavricks Music Hall
Filling the air with the sounds of Rock, Hip-hop and just about anything else, is Mavricks Music Hall. This venue plays host to local talent as well as international stars with space for 1000. Be sure to check out Barrie 360’s Events page for more info on upcoming shows.
The Foxx Lounge
Music, comedy and hot dogs! The Foxx offers up comedy on Tuesdays, showcasing local and big-name comedians, live music Thursday to Saturdays, open jam night on Wednesdays, and of course, hot dogs!
