The Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition (RLSC) is excited to announce the return of their popular fundraiser, Laugh for Lake Simcoe, for the third year in a row! This summer, get ready for an evening of side-splitting comedy while supporting a great cause.
Comedy with a cause
The event takes place on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at the beautiful Orillia Opera House. Doors open at 6:30 pm, allowing you to mingle and enjoy refreshments before the laughter kicks off at 7:00 pm. With tickets are $50, with $20 going directly to the RLSC's ongoing efforts.
The RLSC is a dedicated group working towards improving the health of Lake Simcoe, a vital ecosystem facing various environmental challenges. Through education and advocacy, they empower local communities to get involved in protecting this precious resource. Ron Josol
A seasoned Canadian Filipino comedian, Ron Josol brings his unique perspective to the stage. He's known for his witty observations on the multicultural melting pot of modern life, combining one-liners and storytelling to create hilarious scenarios. Having performed internationally for nearly two decades, Ron is a sought-after act and has been nominated for prestigious comedy awards in Canada.
Jeff McEnery
A Canadian comedy award nominee himself, Jeff McEnery is a comedic powerhouse. Since winning the prestigious Tim Sims Encouragement Award in 2005, he's become a headliner at Yuk Yuk's, graced major Canadian comedy festivals, landed roles in critically acclaimed shows like Letterkenny, and now writes for CBC's Still Standing. Jeff's comedic timing and sharp wit promise a night of non-stop laughter.
Fiona O'Brien
After emigrating from Dublin, Fiona O'Brien quickly established herself in the Canadian comedy scene. Her disarming humor and willingness to challenge stereotypes have won over audiences across North America. From featuring on CBC's Laugh Out Loud to performing at festivals like Just for Laughs, Fiona's sharp wit and unique perspective are sure to leave a lasting impression.
More than just laughs
The Orillia Opera House provides the perfect setting for this laughter-filled evening. The historic venue boasts a beautiful performance space, a bar for refreshments, and additional rooms for a silent art auction.
Information tables will also be available. This will give you a chance to learn more about RLSC initiatives and how you can get involved. Light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission.
