An employee of a Cundles West convenience store in Barrie had to resort to calling the cops after a man who was inside the business refused the worker's request that he leave the premises.

Officers responded around 11:30 Monday night to a report of an unwanted person at the store.

When officers attempted to reason with the man and directed him to leave the business, there was a brief struggle that saw some displays knocked over, and he was taken into custody.

The 26-year-old was charged with trespassing and resisting police.

He was held in custody and has a court date on Tuesday for a bail hearing.
