Whether it's the books and the show, you probably already know R. L. Stine for his tame, teen-friendly Goosebumps series, but Netflix is bringing a new trilogy to their streaming service and this time around, it's rated R.

Based on a book series of the same name, Fear Street will be a trilogy of movies released back-to-back and takes place in three different time periods: 1994, 1978, and 1666. A group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets.

The Original book series spanned more than 50 books and was PG-rated, but Netflix decided to up the rating for the movie trilogy. "Fear Street fans are in for a treat and some major surprises," says Stine in the press release. "Readers know that the book series is rated PG. But the movies are rated R. That means a lot more thrills-- and a lot more terror!"

The trilogy will kick off on July 2 with part one, the second part will release a week later on July 9, and the final part will wrap up on July 16.
