What started on a whim in 2012, has quickly become a must-visit spot in cottage country during the winter. Arrowhead's skating trail, winding through 1.3 km of lush Muskoka forest, is a beautiful place to spend the day.

Keep in mind Saturdays are the most popular day of the week for a visit. In order to avoid too much of a crowd, aim for Sundays or a week day.
Arrowhead is about 1.5 hours from Barrie, making it completely doable for a day trip. While at the park you can also check out the snowshoeing and cross country ski trails. Stubb's Falls is a great place to stop along one of the many trails.
Rentals are available for skates, snowshoes and skis.

Admission is $17 per vehicle Mon-Fri and $20 per vehicle on weekends and holidays. The trail is open 7 days a week from 11 am- 5:30 pm.
For something different, skate the trail while it's lit up by hundreds of tiki torches. You can do so by visiting Arrowhead during a "Fire and Ice" event, where the trail is open at night. For dates, click here.

Check the Arrowhead Park Ski Report before heading North to see what is open at the Park for that day. The report is updated by park staff daily.
