Hosted by Collier Street United Church, The Music Room is a free drop-in program happening 3 times a week!
Whether you want to learn, practice, or play, they have lots of folk guitars, ukuleles, and keyboards to get you started. If you don't want to jump on an instrument right away, don't worry, there is also a creative art table where you can just sit and enjoy the musical atmosphere!
The creator of the program, Sandra Ruttan, said the program is a cross between a high-school music room and a public room at the library where everyone is welcome. She went on to say "I'm very passionate about music. I think people benefit from connecting over musical activity. There may be people who don't have a space where they can play or have an instrument they can try out, and this just seemed like a very nice way to use our space."
The Music Room takes place every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and it's completely free, so there's no reason not to give it a try!

Participants must wear a mask and show proof of vaccination before entry.
Also taking place on Wednesdays at the same time, Listening Post Barrie will also be at the church for anyone who needs to share their story or just what's on their mind, in a judgment-free way.
