8 Things To Do This Weekend (June 28th – 1st)

The Canada Day long weekend is here!

Free Buffet At Mandarin

All 29 Mandarin restaurants are offering a free buffet to Canadian citizens on Canada Day! The first seating will take place at noon and will run until 8:30 PM! There are no reservations and seating is given on a first come, first serve basis so be sure to get there early!

Promenade Days

Starting on June 28th and running all long weekend, downtown Barrie will be transformed into an outdoor marketplace with activities, shopping, and food thanks to Promenade Days! Walk around and enjoy the experience or park yourself on a nice patio and take in the atmosphere!

Wrestling At Five Points

The ring will be up near Meridian Place with tons of exciting bouts and electrifying energy! Check out the high flying fights and over the top characters that Barrie Wrestling has to offer at this outdoor venue!

Iconic Canadian planes led by the Snowbirds will be performing breathtaking maneuvers over Lake Simcoe this weekend! There will be two performances, one on June 28th at 5:30 PM and the second on June 29th at 12:30 PM. Be sure to tune into 87.9 for commentary and the opening address.

Print That Pop

This Friday is a P.A Day! If you’re looking for an activity for your kids, the Maclaren Art Centre is hosting Print That Pop, a fun and education workshop where children aged 6 to 11 can participate in arts and crafts! The event runs from 9 to 5 and costs $78 with all material included.

Friday Flicks

Get you web-slingers ready because this weeks movie at the Barrie Public Library’s Friday Flicks is Spiderman: Homecoming! Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman will be gracing the screen twice thanks to the P.A Day with a showing at 2:30 PM and another one at 6:30 PM! This event is free and you can bring your own nut-free snacks and refreshments!

Donate Blood

The Barrie Blood Bank is seeing a dip in donation numbers because of the construction at Big Bay Point Road and Fairview Drive. Summer is already a tough time for collecting blood so it is more important than ever for people to roll up their sleeve and donate to Canada’s lifeline! Book an appointment here!
