Things To Do This Weekend

Festivals, Fundraisers, and Beer!
Things to do this weekend (Aug 23rd)

Barrie Dragon Boat Festival

The 17th annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is back again this Saturday. There's tons of food and refreshments along with all the exciting 300-meter races. Get there early because the day kicks off with the unique "Waking Of The Dragon" ceremony.

Muskoka Craft Beerfest

Do you like beer? Do you like music? How about lawn games? Of course you do! The Muskoka Craft Beerfest is on this Saturday with craft beer and live music from 12 PM to 8 PM. You can also participate in a few tournaments like Beer Pong, KanJam, Cornhole and more.

Tiny Fire Family Fun Day

If you're looking for something to bring the whole family to, Tiny's Fire and Emergency Services are hosting a family fun day on Saturday from 11 Am to 2 PM. There will be fire hose target practice, face painting, magic shows, and more, along with a free BBQ and lots of treats like popcorn and cotton candy.

Paddle 4 The Cure

Grab you pink clothes and head to the Southshore Community Centre this Sunday for the Blue Wave SUP Paddle 4 The Cure event. Join individually or with a team for the 5km social paddle parade and help raise money in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Donate Blood

You don't need the ability to fly, rescue damsels, or shoot lasers from your eyes to be a hero. Being a hero is a simple as heading to the Blood Clinic and donating. Summer is a slow time for the center and one donation of blood can save up to three lives.

Redline's 4th Anniversary

Redline Brewhouse is hosting two days of fun for their 4th anniversary. On Saturday night, Kansas Stone will be rocking the house and on Sunday afternoon there will be a classic car show and brunch. They are also releasing the special new "Series 4" beer. You can also grab a $10 flight and try series 1, 2, and 3 as well.

The Barrie Fair

The Barrie Fair is back again for the 166th year in a row. Grab some food at the vendors, take in shows like the demolition derby, or get your hands dirty with some interactive fun like the Brickawesome lego showcase. The Barrie Fair is another great option for a fun weekend with the whole family.

Friday Flicks

The Barrie Public Library hosts a free family movie every Friday at 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM. This weeks movie is "Sing", a charming animated film that the kids are sure to love. Don't forget to bring your own nut-free snacks and refreshments too.
