This Summer might have seemed like the longest one ever, or the shortest one ever, depending on how you look at it. However, one thing we can all agree on is that we should make this last long weekend count! Here are 7 things to help fill up your last long weekend of Summer!
Go Golfing
We always recommend a day on the greens because frankly, it's hard to beat! You don't have to look very hard in Barrie for golf because we are lucky to be flush with beautiful courses like Tangle Creek, The Wilds, and Innisbrook. Fore!
Go to the Theatre
Do you know what else is hard to beat? Watching a brand new movie on an 80-foot screen with a warm, buttery bag of popcorn in your lap. Theatres are starting to open back up (safety measures in place) and just in time for some big-time movies like the highly anticipated, Tenet. We can't wait to see it and we think you should too!

Go to the Drive-In
If you really want to see a movie but aren't quite ready to hit the theatre again, Sunrise Drive-In is a fun alternative with films old and new! Take the kids to see the new Spongebob Squarepants movie, join Bill & Ted on their latest adventure, or get some classic drive-in scares with A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Road Trip
Maybe not a long one and definitely not south of the border, but luckily there are a ton of places in Ontario that can take a roadie to and help fill your weekend. Solo hike through Bruce Peninsula National Park, a family outing at Blue Mountain, or a romantic wine weekend at Niagara-On-The-Lake.

Back to school shopping
It can't all be fun and games, sometimes you need to get some important stuff done before you can relax. September 8th is just around the corner so it's your last weekend to finish up all your back to school shopping and pick up backpacks, supplies, laptops, clothes, and anything else they might need for their first day back at school.

Shop Local
It's been a difficult few months for everyone and local businesses, in particular, have been feeling the squeeze. However, supporting local is effortless with so many amazing places to shop, eat, and relax all over Barrie. Grab lunch at Skewers, get a manicure at Glow Day Spa, or update your wardrobe at The Red Tulip.

Hike with the pooch
Sometimes (okay, most of the time), the only company you need is your four-legged friend. Hanging out the couch can get old pretty fast and hitting up one of Simcoe County's many dog-friendly trails can be a nice change and trust us, your dog will love it!
